Sisterhood of the Worlds Bloggers Award

Hello everyone!

Neither, I’m a flats or heels type of person. I don’t own any flip flops.

This question is so difficult! So, I’m going to narrow it down to a beauty product: Too Faced chocolate bar eye shadow palette because I’ve been wanting that for a while now.

e.l.f. 144-Piece Bright Eye Shadow Palette Review + Swatches

e.l.f. 144 piece bright eye shadow palette

Hello again!

Today I’m reviewing the e.l.f.’s bright palette. Before we begin, if you haven’t already, click here to see my review on the neutral palette.

There are much more bright, summery colors in this palette but they still kept a bunch of neutral shades on the sides. This palette includes matte, shimmer, satin, and metallic shades, which makes it much easier to create a look without reaching for other shadows. I love using this for a pop of color on my lower lash line when I want a specific shade of blue or green, I always reach for this.

The quality is pretty much the same as the neutral palette, except a bit more powdery; but you can always apply it the same method you would apply a loose pigment. The shimmer colors are the best quality, they are much more buttery and pigmented. The matte shades are the least pigmented, same as the neutral palette. I would recommend this palette to those who do not want to spend a lot but want to increase their eye shadow collection.

I did not use primer under the swatches or water to intensify them. I ran the color on the back of my hand a few times with my finger.

Too Faced Eye Shadow Review + Swatches

Too Faced Eye Shadow Neptune

Too Faced Eye Shadow Neptune

Hello everyone!

Is there such a thing as a triple chrome eye shadow? Because I may have found one close to it. This is such a pretty color especially for the summer, you can line your bottom lash line with this, add it to your inner corner for a pop of blue, or do a nice smokey eye with this in the center of the lid for a night out. I found this on eBay quite a while ago and when I received it I was pleasantly surprised, it is much nicer in person; the swatches don’t do it justice. This is one of the few shades of blue I wear on my eyes.

Too Faced Eye Shadow Neptune

Too Faced Eye Shadow Neptune

This eye shadow slightly changes in color as you move; it turns from a light blue to a teal to a green. It is definitely unique in my collection. Unfortunately, I could not get a picture of the green shade that comes out of this shadow with my lighting; but it is a medium-toned forest green. The teal color is also deeper than it looks in the pictures. Too Faced Eye Shadow Neptune

The quality is amazing as well, it stays on all day and does not fade. The texture is smooth and in no way chalky.

Tarte Park Avenue Princess Bronzer Review + Swatch

Tarte Park Avenue Princess Bronzer

Tarte Park Avenue Princess Bronzer

Hi again!

Let me start off by saying this is a unique bronzer in my collection and at first when I swatched it, I thought this color is going to look ridiculous on me. I’m fair and this looked like a golden metallic eyeshadow on the back on my hand. However, I always give new makeup a try on my face because I have been pleasantly surprised by doing so in the past.

The first time I used it I barely tapped my brush in and noticed how light the color was and how well it blended; I felt like I could use more. When I finished applying it on my temples and up around my hairline and the sides of my cheeks where I usually apply bronzer, I really liked the results. It gave me a fresh and glow-y complexion and did not look very golden or metallic once blended. Somehow it translated to more of a subtle bronze on my skin than orange. I love using this bronzer when I want to create a glow-y peachy or golden look. It is perfect for summer and looks very natural on me.

The powder itself is very blend-able and lasts quite a long time on me. The pictures show a sample size of this product which I purchased on eBay, I would definitely consider buying the full size when this finishes.

Technic Brow Gel Review + Swatch

Hello again!

I haven’t reviewed an eyebrow product yet on this blog, so I thought I’d do one today.

Technic Brow Gel

Technic Brow Gel

I have never heard or tried any products from Technic before this brow gel. I was searching on eBay when I found this listed for $3.80 CAD and was interested to see how well it would work and it was so affordable that it wouldn’t be much of a loss if it turned out horrible. I did a search on this brand but found no official website or detailed information, I wish they would at least set up a site.

My brows are a bit sparse in some areas so I do fill it in with a gel (the e.l.f. eyebrow kit) or sometimes a pencil and I always have to set it with a brow gel so that the hairs don’t move. This brow gel is available in 3 colors and I choose dark because light is usually too light and medium is sometimes more red-toned. Thankfully this shade is not too warm so I recommend this for brunettes.

Technic Brow Gel

This swatch on my hand did not smudge no matter how much I rubbed it; it just slightly faded in color. However, upon contact with water it very easily washes off and smudges. Which is a disaster if you get stuck in the rain; similar to a running mascara. It keeps my hairs in place and doesn’t feel weird like some other brow gels; I can’t feel it on my eyebrows. Keep in mind that I gently brush my eyebrow with this because the color can get very dark quickly. The brush is okay to use since my eyebrows are not thin, I don’t have any problems with it being too big and touching my skin.

Technic Brow Gel

It is an OK product overall; I didn’t feel very strongly about it one way or another.

Have you heard of or tried any Technic products?

e.l.f. 144 Neutral Palette Review + Swatches

e.l.f. 144 Neutral Eyeshadow Palette

e.l.f. 144 Neutral Eyeshadow Palette

Hi everyone!

I had a comment on a post about this eyeshadow palette; wondering if it is any good. So I decided to do a full review on it.

Firstly, just by looking at the palette you see some matte, satin, shimmer, and a few metallic shades. There are some deep shades of purple, orange, and green in this palette, which help you to incorporate some color in your eye look. Each individual pan is an okay size as I have used some of these shades many times but have not hit pan yet. I had bought this on their 50% off sale months ago. It is normally $15 but I got it for $7.50 at the time along with the colorful 144 palette which I will do a review on soon.

As for the quality, the shimmer and metallic shades are the best compared to the others. They are pigmented and soft however, a few were too soft and they would break apart turning into a loose pigment. The matte shades are less pigmented but work well on me because I have fair skin therefore I can build the crease color. The lighter shades (the top left corner) are a bit too powdery and slightly chalky but they are not too bad as I can still work with them but I hardly do because I have better ones in my collection.

I would say more of the colors are good quality and would recommend this palette for the price.

I did not use a primer underneath the swatches or water to intensify them. I simply rubbed my finger in the pan and ran it 2 or 3 times on the back of my dry hand.

Dupe? St. Moriz Instant Self Tanning Mousse Review

Hi everyone!

I’m excited to tell you all that I have reached 500 WordPress followers on this blog- Thank you! That is amazing and this only motivates me to continue as I hope these reviews help you in choosing to purchase an item and/or finding it online.

St.moriz instant self tanning mousse

I thought I would do a non-makeup item review today; since it is summer in Canada and for those of us that don’t want to get burned- there is a safe alternative to sun tanning!

St.moriz instant self tanning mousse

St.moriz instant self tanning mousse

Besides the gradual self-tanners (Jergens) I had not tried an over-night self-tanner before I came across this on eBay for $10 CAD. The packaging and the name looked similar to the St.Tropez self-tanner, so I was intrigued if this is a inexpensive dupe for that. There were two options- medium and dark and I went with the dark because when I searched this product I noticed that the medium might be a touch orange and it was less intense. The dark color was described as being more bronze and olive-toned.

I spent some time searching about the preparation, application, and prolonging the fake tan. It is very important that you exfoliate before applying the fake tanner to get rid of any dead skin cells; I just used a loofah in the shower. Then I made sure to moisturize any dry areas like the knees, elbows, and around the ankles. Do not moisturize the whole body as the self-tanner will not be able to tan to the full extent on any moisturized area.

I then applied the self-tanner with a tanning mitt (bought separately on eBay) making sure to apply less on the moisturized areas since these dry areas get much darker. The application was very easy for a beginner like me and the mousse was smooth and spread easily. The mousse has a color guide (tint) so you can see exactly where and how much you are putting on. It has a scent to it but it is not bothersome or overwhelming. The application toke about 15 minutes total.

St.moriz instant self tanning mousse

I woke up the next morning and couldn’t believe how tanned I was. In 8 hours you could definitely notice that the self tanner had gotten much deeper and was the perfect bronzed olive-toned color. There was not even the smallest orange tint to it at all, so that is not a worry with this product. I have never tanned more than a shade or two naturally so this was so much fun for me to see myself with a dramatically deeper skin tone but at the same time amazed at how natural it looked after I showered. In the morning there was no patchy areas or streaks at all and the areas I moisturized had a light tan that faded to the rest of my body. I was relieved, after hearing tanning horror stories; non of that happened to me with this!

However, the color guide makes the tan look much darker and I would not recommend going out without taking a shower first because the tan smells like KFC (fried chicken) in the morning and as soon as water touches your skin the color guide melts away and it looks funny when you wash your hands. After you take a shower the tan will soften a bit but it still looks very much bronze-y.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this because the color is amazing, it was not patchy, there were no streaks, and it lasted a little over a week. I don’t regularly self-tan but once in a while when I feel like it, I only use this because of how easy and quick it is.
