e.l.f. Eyeliner and Shadow Stick in Pearl/Glow Review + Swatches

Hi again!

This eyeliner/eyeshadow stick is perfect for a touch of shimmer in the inner corners, all over the lid, or brow bone. Look below for the swatches; the shades are amazing!

e.l.f. Eyeliner and Shadow Stick1

The liner (pearl) side is a thinner stick that is a metallic silver/white shade. This looks nice on the inner corners; it does not smudge or run (unless you rub it). I tried this on my waterline but it does not work well there; it runs down immediately onto my lashes and because of it’s metallic sheen it doesn’t show up well on the water/tight line.

The shadow (glow) side is a very soft pink/champagne shade. I also love using this on my inner corners and find that the quality is better than the liner; it is creamier. I also think this would look nice on the brow bone if you apply a bit and then blend it out slightly. I usually use a matte shade with the tiniest shimmer for the brow bone but sometimes I like a more shimmery brow bone when all of the shadows I used are matte. I tried this on the waterline and just like the liner; it doesn’t perform well there. I also tried this all over the lid and it immediately creased on me. I applied it again but then quickly added shadow on top and I noticed that it didn’t crease after that. It also made the eye shadow pop because it is a light shimmery color and that definitely came through. I wouldn’t rely on it (as a base) for more than a few hours because I have oily lids and always need to prime.

The shadow (glow) is on the left and the liner (pearl) is on the right.

I would recommend this if you are searching for a silver/white and/or pink/champagne shade for the inner corners. It is very easy to apply and the lasting time is decent; I’d say it would last a whole work/school day but you would experience fading after a few hours if it is not set with a shadow.

Maybelline Color Whisper Lipstick in Peach Punch Review + Swatches

Maybelline Color Whisper Peach Punch

Hello everyone!

Today I thought I would do a review on this lipstick that I have rediscovered in my collection for National Lipstick Day! These Color Whispers are a tinted lip balm rather than a lipstick but this specific shade is much more pigmented than the rest. This shade is a limited edition one that came out with the Bleached Neons collection; which was a year ago. However, I bought this a few months ago on eBay and have seen it a bunch of times again since then; so it is still available online.

Maybelline Color Whisper Peach Punch

The texture is very creamy and feels like a slippery lip balm on my lips. It lasts about 3 hours; which is average for a formula like this. It is very easy to wear; there is no need for a lip balm underneath. You can swipe it on your lips once for a sheer application or go over it a few times to build the intensity. This shade is an orange/peach that will look good on almost all skin tones because it can be built up to look more orange or toned down to look more peach.

Overall, I like this in the summer time because of its hydrating qualities and the color is very summery.

Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso Review + Swatches

Milani Baked Blush Luminoso

Milani Baked Blush Luminoso

Hello again!

I have heard about this blush too many times to not purchase it. I was a little worried that it would not look good on me because I’m very fair however, I didn’t have a shade like it in my collection.

This blush does not claim to be long lasting but I have noticed that it stays on for a long time; it will easily last the whole work/school day. It is also very pigmented and with just a light tap of the brush it picks up a lot of product. It applies very beautifully and melts into my skin without much blending. The quality and performance of this blush is comparable to my higher end blushes.

The packaging is a bit bulky because it houses a brush underneath that I do not recommend that you use with this. The letters are also wiping away on the front.

Milani Baked Blush Luminoso2

The shade is a beautiful peach/orange with lots of shimmer. The first time I swatched it I was sure this wasn’t going to look nice on me. I tried it anyway with a very light hand and it gave me a nice glow that is not overwhelming at all. On me it looks more orange but it’s a nice soft summery shade of orange. I have tried this on medium skin tones and it pulls more peach and looks very natural.

I recommend this blush; the quality is great, the shade is unique and matches most light – medium skin tones.

Marcelle Matte BB Cream Review (paraben/oil/gluten free)

Marcelle Matte BB Cream

Marcelle Matte BB Cream

Hello again!

I’m so excited about this review today because I have tried a bunch of BB creams and this is by far my favorite. Marcelle has different finishes of these BB Creams that I’m dying to try after this. This review is on the matte formula in the shade light to medium.

Firstly, this BB cream only has two shades which confused me at first before I learned that this has a skin matching technology. At first when I pumped out the product it looked very dark but as soon as I rubbed it in it became much lighter and matched my skin shade perfectly! This is perfect for summer when you start out with your natural skin tone and gradually get darker. The picture below has the product blended on top (covered my vein) and the product straight out of the pump on the bottom.

Marcelle Matte BB Cream

The finish of this BB cream is suppose to be a “natural matte” and that is exactly how I would describe it – a matte, satin-almost finish. I have combination skin with an oily t-zone and dry patches sometimes and this does not cling to the dry patches at all and helps to mattify the oily t-zone. The coverage is light to medium – it can be built up very nicely on areas where there is more redness – I use this with a flat top brush and it can cover acne scars very well.

The longevity is not crazy long, I’d say it’s good for a work or school day with some fading after 6 hours. I always set this BB cream with a little bit of powder on my t-zone to prolong it’s wear and since I do still get a little oily if I don’t set it. The packaging is pretty good as well except that the pump sucks in oxygen so you have to slightly squeeze the tube before pumping the product out or it will splatter out.

Lastly, if you read the back of this BB cream you will see that it has alot of beneficial ingredients in it for your skin and it is also hypo-allergenic, 100% perfume free, non-comedogenic, gluten free, oil free, and paraben free. It also says that it can be used as a primer which I haven’t done yet because I love the coverage and finish and don’t want to cover that up. Also, I must add that I have used alot of this product which is why the tube looks so deflated, it has 45mL of product which is decent for a BB cream.

Dupe? W7 In the Buff: Lightly Toasted Eyeshadow Palette Review + Swatches

W7 Lightly Toasted Eyeshadow Palette

W7 Lightly Toasted Eyeshadow Palette

Hi everyone!

I’ve seen this palette as a dupe for the Urban Decay Naked palette and from looking at the Naked palette swatches online; they look very similar and a bunch of the shades are even identical. If you haven’t done so, click here to see my review on the W7 in the buff palette, which is a dupe of the Naked 2. This palette is also $8.99 CAD on eBay with free shipping. Links below as always.

W7 Lightly Toasted Eyeshadow Palette

Similar to the In the Buff Palette, the pigmentation on these shadows are amazing and they are very smooth. They last all day on the eyes; I noticed little fading after 8+ hours. They have a bit of a fall out while applying but that can be fixed by either placing a tissue under the eyes or doing the eyes before the face makeup.

The matte shades are a little bit less pigmented and powdery but that doesn’t really bother me as they are blendable and build up pretty well. The 3rd and 5th shades from the left are matte. The 2 shades on the right are more powdery than the rest but they can be built up or used wet.

I did not use primer under the swatches or water to intensify them. The first two pictures below are of the 6 colors on the left of the palette and the 3rd and 4th picture is of the colors on the right side.

Laval Kohl Eyeliner in White Review + Swatches

Laval Kohl Eyeliner White

Hi again!

I randomly found this on eBay one day when I was looking for a good white eyeliner to use on my waterline. I wanted one that was creamy enough to apply to my water line but not too creamy like the NYX jumbo pencils because I don’t like the look of an extremely stark white waterline.

It applies well to my waterline without tugging but I do have to go over it 2-3 times to really brighten it. I really like how it looks on; it looks brightened but not obvious that you are wearing anything.

Laval Kohl Eyeliner White

This is a regular eyeliner pencil so you have to sharpen it but it sharpens very well, without breaking. It lasts for a decent amount of time on my waterline about 3-4 hours, so I bring it along in my bag to reapply.

This was my second product from laval after having used their bronzer (review coming soon), I decided to try out their eyeliner as well. Their products are very affordable and are decent quality from what I have experienced so far.
