e.l.f. Acne Fighting Foundation Review + Swatch

e.l.f. Acne Fighting Foundation

Hi everyone!

This foundation is targeted for people who have acne because it contains salicylic acid, witch hazel, camphor, tea tree and lastly aloe. I have seen these ingredients on many cleansers, toners, gels, etc. claiming to get rid of acne. I personally do not have much acne; except for a few acne marks which have faded mostly. I also have combination skin; oily t-zone but some dry patches. This review is on the shade “Porcelain”.

This is a full coverage foundation; so it will easily cover any existing acne or any discoloration. A little goes a long way so you don’t need much product. It cancels out any redness and creates a flawless canvas. This has a semi-matte finish that dries down so you can skip the powder if you have drier skin types. I have to powder my t-zone but I use the smallest amount since I don’t need any more coverage. It’s not at all heavy or cake-y; as long as you don’t use much powder on it.

The lasting power is very good and will easily last the whole work/school day. If used with a good primer and setting spray it will stay for the entire day. It stays looking good but if you apply a thicker layer of this foundation it may sink into laugh lines, forehead creases, etc.

The ivory shade looks to be the lightest shade but it looked very pink on their website, so I choose the porcelain shade and I’m glad I did as this one is almost my skin-tone shade however, it does have a slight pink undertone. The swatch below has the product squeezed out of the tube on the bottom and blended out on the top.

I really like the squeeze bottle because you don’t have to put your fingers in the product and you can control how much product you want to squeeze out. The packaging is also very travel-friendly because it is slim and light.

I personally think that this foundation is great and would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a full coverage natural-finish foundation.

  1. I have been wondering about this for very oily acne prone skin but I am concerned about the smell ? Can you describe the smell? Does it make your face feel cool or anything ? I don’t use products that have that affect and I have read so many mixed reviews …thanks dear lovely blog 💄💄💄💄

ELF is such a hard brand to find in Canada but whenever I go over to the US I pick up some products. its a great price and great value for the price! my skin has been horrible lately and I’ve been looking for a good foundation to help cover and clear my skin, so thank you for this review xo.

  3. When I used to suffer from acne I used the Clinique Anti Blemish Foundation which I loved, this looks like a cheaper version of that, perfect for anyone on a budget! I bet it dried your skin out a bit though if you don’t suffer from acne? xx
