Younique Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes+ Review

Younique Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes+

Hello again!

I have seen pictures of this mascara many times on social media and I’m sure that most of you have as well. This set is suppose to give you the volume and length of false lashes even if you have short and few lashes to begin with. This review is on the new formula (hence the +).

Firstly, there is a “transplanting gel” and a “3D fiber” tube in a pouch in this box. I always keep these in the pouch since I have many mascaras and I want to be able to easily find them together.

You start off applying the transplanting gel onto your bare lashes. This is the most important part in my opinion; if you apply too much of this your lashes will start to clump up. Do not apply this on liberally like a mascara; you just need one coat. The brush itself is easy to use and will separate and curl your lashes as you are brushing through them. This formula is easy to remove at night (similar to a regular mascara) and does not flake at all during the day.

After you apply the transplanting gel, you must quickly follow up with applying the 3D fibers. Don’t start applying the fibers from the root as the fibers may end up in your eyes; start from the middle of the lashes to the tip. Make sure not to apply too many fibers as this will make your lashes look clumpy and the fibers will end up flaking under your eyes throughout the day. When you apply the fibers wait about 20 seconds and then apply the transplanting gel to seal in the fibers. Again, make sure not to apply too much of the transplanting gel. It says that you can repeat if desired but I barely do that because that is when it starts to get too clumpy for my liking.

A few times my lashes ended up looking a bit too clumpy and I ran a separating mascara wand through my lashes to separate them and that worked great as long as you do it quickly before the transplanting gel dries.

Overall, I did enjoy this product; it is something in between a mascara and false lashes. I wouldn’t say that this replaces false lashes because it doesn’t give you separate hairs. The application takes a bit more time than a regular mascara but after my first few times of using this, I could apply it much quicker. I was also asked if I was wearing false lashes with this product on and it does give the appearance that you have natural lashes on. I would mostly recommend this for those that do not like wearing false lashes.

  1. Really enjoying reading your blog!

With the younique 3D fiber lashes + I do find the application method slightly different from the original. I find if you move the wand with gel from side to side slightly whilst applying, this separates your lashes and keeps them individual to stop any clumping 🙂 see if this method helps you at all!

  2. I did purchase the 3-D Lash about 5 months ago, yes I did love it, however,I only use it on rare occasions… and I had to learn about applying the fiber in the middle of your lash because those fiber can bother you…..But I agree with you, a very nice product for lashes.

Thanks onlinebeautyfinds another great review 🙂

  3. Hey hun keep thinking about this mascara but afraid to try as I’ve seen many ‘spidery’ lash looks (sorry not for me) do you have a pic of it on your eyes? Your blog review sounds good! So I thought maybe you have an appealing pic? X

    • The results of this mascara varies greatly since some like to use alot which makes the lashes clumpy and it doesn’t hold up throughout the day! If you apply this in the way I mentioned above it will look like you have on natural falsies. It takes a few times to learn how to seperate your lashes and to not apply too much.

    • Thank you SO much for sharing your review! I’m so excited! I have tons of personal tips and tricks I will be happy to share with those questioning the product as I’ve tried everything at perfecting it for going on 2 years as i have been using the 3D (discontinued) which is now transformed into the 3D+ 😀

      • I really did like this mascara after I got use to avoiding the clumping. I have had people telling me how they can’t put on falsies because of the glue, etc. so this would be a great option for them!

  4. Thanks for the great review! Can I ask, how long do these last and did you have a problem with them dropping over the course of the day?

I’ve seen lots of reviews that have said that the fibers dropping into the eyes and on the face is quite annoying..
