Essence Metal Glam Eyeshadow (Chocolate Jewelery) Review + Swatches

Essence Metal Glam Eye shadow

Hi everyone!

When I first saw this shadow I thought that it would be a glitter cream texture. I wasn’t sure what to expect when I first swatched it but realized that the intense glitter is an over-spray; under that is a dark gold/brown shade with fine golden glitter. This review is on the shade “Chocolate Jewelery”, not sure why it isn’t spelt “Jewelry”.

I like the packaging because the lid is clear so I can see the shade and it is a sturdy plastic that won’t break easily if you drop it.

This shadow is very densely packed and and can be picked up better with a finger rather than with a brush. However, it needs to be rubbed on the eyelid for the color to transfer; patting it on gave me a very sheer color. I tried using it wet with a synthetic fiber brush and it helped slightly but I still needed to swipe it on my eyelid multiple times to get an even, more intense color. The formula feels like a dry, smooth powder rather than a buttery texture. The fine glitter is not gritty at all; I can’t even feel it when I touch the shadow.
