I have been trying out a bunch of Younique products lately and I was interested to see if this foundation would work with my very oily t-zone. This review is on the shade “Scarlet”, which is the lightest shade.
I like the packaging; it has a dropper which is very convenient since this is a liquid foundation. The product is housed in a frosted glass bottle.
It has a very pleasant scent and upon application (blending) the liquid formula quickly transforms to a powder. I need about 7-8 drops for my entire face and I like using this with a flat top brush that has tightly packed bristles. This has a medium coverage and can be built up to an almost full coverage; it covers my acne scars very well.
I found that on my skin type, a silicon-based primer helps this product spread out easier and prevents it from clinging to my dry patches, which it can do if you don’t exfoliate, moisturize, and prime beforehand. But since it has a powder finish it keeps me matte for longer and doesn’t break apart on my t-zone. I definitely think that this foundation works best for oily skin types.
The shade “Scarlet” is a good match for me; it is very fair with a neutral undertone.
The product is blended on top.
