LUSH Cupcake Fresh Face Mask Review

Lush Cupcake Fresh Face Mask

Hello again!

This was the first product that I had ever tried from LUSH and having heard how great this mask is for oily skin types I was very excited to try it.

The packaging is rather simple; the product comes in a tub that you must keep in the fridge and use until the expiry date. The texture of this face mask is on the drier side so it takes a bit longer to spread on your face but once it’s on your face it won’t flake off. It smells amazing and looks like crumbled up cupcake and frosting.

The washing off process of this mask takes longer than the average mask because it really clings to your skin. After I rinse this off I notice that my skin feels very soft and that the mask absorbed almost all the oil on my face. The immediate result is amazing however, by the end of the day I notice that my skin produced more oil than it would normally. I tried using this a few more times and I got the same results every time. For this reason, I won’t be repurchasing but I did enjoy the scent and the feel of the mask and would try another LUSH mask in the future.

  1. Too bad, I really liked this mask when I tried it – if you want to try an alternative mask for oily skin the Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay Deep Pore Cleansing mask and you just add Apple Cider Vinegar – it’s amzing for oily skin!

  2. This is the first face mask that I ever tried from lush. I have been a long time fan haha. I recently tried the Sacred Truth mask, and it is amazing! I’m only in my late twenties, but preventive care for aging is always great, and this really focuses on it. I am going to try the Cosmetic Warrior mask next! Great review!

  3. Great review! By chance, did you moisturize after applying the mask? Perhaps it did such a great job of absorbing oils that your skin produced more because it thought it was dry. I wonder if applying a light moisturizer for oily skin would help control the excess oil later?!
