Hello everyone!
I’m still on the search for a foundation that works with an oily skin type. If you have a very oily t-zone like myself, then you know the struggle of foundation breaking apart and looking shiny only after a few hours wear.
What intrigued me about this foundation was that it claims to be full coverage (hence the foundation + concealer description), long-lasting (12+ hours), oil-free, does not oxidize, does not clog pores and the color stays true through sweat & humidity.
This foundation has a cream consistency and a natural-matte finish. I like the applicator because it picks up the perfect amount for the entire face and I do not have to touch the foundation with my fingers during application. I use this with a flat top buffer brush to really blend in the product.
I like how this foundation wears for a few hours; I get a flawless finish and lots of compliments when wearing this. However, it doesn’t look so good after 6 hours or so; it starts to break apart on my chin and around my mouth and looks rather cake-y. I like to use a liquid foundation, because it is thinner in consistency and seems to last longer on me, and then use this on the areas (cheeks usually) where I need more coverage.
I got the lightest shade, 0.5 breeze, this shade has a pink undertone.
Overall, I like this foundation for when I’m going out for a few hours but this would not be my pick for when I’m out all day. It lived up to the claims that it made except for the long-lasting one for me. I can see this working for someone that doesn’t have such an oily t-zone.

The review will be up tomorrow on my favourite foundation that I’ve been using for 8 months! Also using a long wearing primer and setting spray definitely helps. 😊

I really like the Marc Jacobs Remarcable with a couple drops of oil. Then make sure to set and found that it lasted on me all day. I’m more normal to combination skin.

I heard that the Remarcable doesn’t blend well & is a bit patchy. Is that why you add in the drops of oil? I have never done that do you think it would work on someone with a super oily skintype?

It blends super nice with the oil. I personally don’t like a flat matte finish, I prefer natural finish so the oil helps. I have watched a lot of people overuse it and if your skin isn’t properly exfoliated, it will cling on to dry patches, any full coverage foundation will show that. You only need 3 dots and I’ve seen people slide it across all areas of their face. 🙂
I would just try the oil thing for yourself and see how you like it.

Have you tried Nars Velvet Matte Skin Tint Broad Spectrum SPF30? In the summer I have an oily t-zone and it’s worked well for me.

No I haven’t! I will definitely get a sample of that from Sephora next time to see if it works out for me. Thanks for the suggestion 😊

I like the Clinique Stay Matte foundation.

I tried a sample of that a while ago and can’t remember how it performed on my skin. I should try it out again because I really like Clinique products.

Estee Lauder Double Wear has been one I’ve gone back to again and again, and I like to try new foundations. Dior Forever is also amazing. I’m combination/oily skin and those are the 2 that I trust to last. x

The Dior Forever oxidized so badly on me! I had an orange moustache by the end of the day and that has never happened to me before. I should try out the double wear through! Thanks 😊
