This product has the cutest packaging that I have ever seen and on top of that the product itself pleasantly surprised me!
Besides the fact that the packaging is super adorable; it is also nice not to dip your finger in a jar but rather just swipe it on your face. The product itself doesn’t have a strong scent but a very faint skincare smell if that makes any sense – it is a pleasant scent.
I have used this under and over my eyes and really love the result that it gives me. It looks straight up white but once blended out it really brightens the under eyes. I love using this on a no makeup day or under concealer, you can also use this to brighten the center of the face as well. It makes a great eye shadow base because it isn’t tacky or thick and blends out very well. Lastly, it contains some anti aging properties to help reduce the appearance of fine lines around the eyes.
I love this brightening eye base and would definitely recommend it; it’s a great multi-use product. However, I’m not sure if it would work on medium to dark skin tones.

I first tried this mascara a while back in the Estee Lauder block buster purchase with purchase and forgot about it until I had another chance to try it out.
The packaging is gorgeous; it is probably the nicest bottle of mascara that I have ever owned. It has a fat bristle brush that combs through the lashes perfectly. It very slightly tapers at the tip which makes it a bit easier to reach those tiny lashes in the inner corner.
Here comes the pros and cons of this mascara:
I love the packaging, brush, and the instant fanned out effect that it gives my lashes while quickly building the volume and length. Also, I really like how black this mascara is (Shade Extreme Black)! However, this mascara does not do well on the bottom lash; it smudges and transfers creating dark shadows under my eyes which usually never happens to me with any mascara. Also, this mascara dries out very quickly; it started to dry out after 3 weeks of using it which I wasn’t pleased with.
Overall, I like this mascara but it really doesn’t do anything special in terms of making itself remembered. I will probably forget about this mascara and will not repurchase.

I really like the Essence products I have tried so far; they are decent quality and extremely affordable. There are a few shades of these mosaic blushes and the one that I will be doing a review on is the shade “40 The Berry Connection”.
This blush is housed in a clear case; which I like because it’s very lightweight and you are able to see the color which is helpful if you have a huge blush collection. It contains 4.5 grams of product which isn’t much but great value for the price.
The blush itself is slightly powdery as you can see in the swatch below however, it doesn’t apply like that on the cheeks and blends in nicely. It isn’t extremely pigmented which I enjoy because I like to build up the pigmentation rather than spend an hour blending it out. It contains very tiny shimmer particles that really aren’t noticeable but give a nice glow. The lasting power is decent; it will last an entire work/school day at around 6 hours before fading.
Essence Mosaic Blush 40 The Berry Connection. A bright pink shade.
I would definitely recommend the Essence blushes; in general their quality is great and the price is unbelievable. Click here to see my review on the Essence Silky Touch Blush; I like that formula better than this one but would still recommend both.

The one product that is essential in my skincare routine is moisturizer. Even though I have extremely oily skin I always include a moisturizer in my morning and night routine. I find that if I happen to skip it my makeup does not sit right and I get even more oily than usual by the end of the day.
I was very excited to receive this face cream that Influenster sent me from Clarins complimentary to try out and review for you guys! First off, I was a bit worried that this might be too rich for me since this formula is for normal to dry skin and so I replaced this with my night cream for a couple of nights to see if it made much of a difference.
This is the small travel size (15ml) and not the full size which comes in a tub and contains 50ml of product. However, I prefer squeeze tubes or pumps because the product is not exposed to air every time you use it and it does not come in contact with your fingers. This product has a very artificial scent and as weird as this may sound; it smells like the sanitary pads that have a strong rose fragrance. It isn’t bad but it reminds me of that every single time I apply this to my face.
The cream itself is a white opaque consistency which is not at all greasy or heavy on the skin; it’s very lightweight and instantly moisturizes. It doesn’t leave any residue and absorbs in seconds which I prefer since I hate that heavy feeling some creams give.
Overall, this cream is nice because it contains the key ingredient Hyaluronic Acid which deeply moisturizes and Clarins advertises itself as a “natural plant-based” brand. However, this isn’t my favourite moisturizer because I prefer an oil-free gel consistency – I find my makeup sits better on my skin for whatever reason and the scent is a bit odd for me.

Today I’m doing a review on this lipstick from the Spring 2016 MAC X Zac Posen collection. I have seen these limited edition products being sold online (eBay, Amazon) and in store (warehouse sales) and so I thought that a review might be helpful if you happen to spot this somewhere.
Firstly, the packaging of this lipstick is a bit bulky but I like the shape and feel of it. This has a very sweet cupcake scent which I enjoy; I don’t feel that it is over powering. The formula is very similar to that of a lip balm as it glides on the lips and feels moisturizing. It lasts for a few hours if you do not eat or drink but it isn’t at all long wearing.
Swatched on my hand below; the iridescence that this shade has is not detectable in the photo below but this lipstick has a beautiful pink/gold shine to it that would suit every skin tone. This shade really doesn’t have much color at all; just a nice shine so it can be used as a lipstick or lipliner topper.
Would I recommend this for the full price? – No, but if you happen to find this on sale somewhere and you need something like this then yes, I would recommend it.

I’m back with another review on a product that is fairly new (couple months) on the market now and I’ve been wanting to do a review on this. If your new to my blog then your not aware of the obsession that I have with serums – I just find that I get the quickest results with them. I usually search for a serum that promises to brighten and help with skin texture and lighten a few freckles that pop up during the summer months.
In saying that; this “serum” is 100% pure Vitamin C – which is why I was so excited to try this. I know that Vitamin C is super beneficial for the skin as it brightens and helps produce collagen (anti-aging). In the past I’ve used serums with Vitamin C but I haven’t used a pure Vitamin C ‘booster’; which comes with it’s disadvantages such as disposing of each vial after 7 days because the Vitamin C is no longer effective after that due to oxidization. However, this product claims to be a treatment and not necessarily an everyday product. You can purchase one vial (7-day treatment) by itself or a 4-pack (picture above) – Let me just add that this isn’t cheap but rather pricey as the 4-pack retails for $94.00 CAD.
A single vial from the 4-pack.
Now, let’s get into whether or not this product did wonders for my skin: Firstly, the directions say that you must shake this well every time and add 2 drops to your moisturizer morning and night. I tried this for a few days with my Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel and it did absolutely nothing and I even felt my skin was breaking out in little bumps all over. That absolutely terrified me and I stopped using this product for about 2 months until I decided to give it another shot with a different moisturizer. I thought I might have been allergic to the strong active Vitamin C but it made no sense since I have used serums with Vitamin C in the past and loved the instant result. The second attempt I mixed this serum with My Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief and I got the instant brightness and glow overnight! I continued to use this product and my skin looked amazing – smoother, bright and super healthy! I still have no idea why it reacted the way it did with the first moisturizer but I’m glad that I gave it another shot.
So, I would recommend mixing this with the Moisture Surge or testing it out with different face creams to see what works for you.
