Clinique Fresh Pressed Vitamin C Review

Clinique Fresh Pressed Vitamin C

Hi everyone!

I’m back with another review on a product that is fairly new (couple months) on the market now and I’ve been wanting to do a review on this. If your new to my blog then your not aware of the obsession that I have with serums – I just find that I get the quickest results with them. I usually search for a serum that promises to brighten and help with skin texture and lighten a few freckles that pop up during the summer months.

In saying that; this “serum” is 100% pure Vitamin C – which is why I was so excited to try this. I know that Vitamin C is super beneficial for the skin as it brightens and helps produce collagen (anti-aging). In the past I’ve used serums with Vitamin C but I haven’t used a pure Vitamin C ‘booster’; which comes with it’s disadvantages such as disposing of each vial after 7 days because the Vitamin C is no longer effective after that due to oxidization. However, this product claims to be a treatment and not necessarily an everyday product. You can purchase one vial (7-day treatment) by itself or a 4-pack (picture above) – Let me just add that this isn’t cheap but rather pricey as the 4-pack retails for $94.00 CAD.

A single vial from the 4-pack.

Now, let’s get into whether or not this product did wonders for my skin: Firstly, the directions say that you must shake this well every time and add 2 drops to your moisturizer morning and night. I tried this for a few days with my Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel and it did absolutely nothing and I even felt my skin was breaking out in little bumps all over. That absolutely terrified me and I stopped using this product for about 2 months until I decided to give it another shot with a different moisturizer. I thought I might have been allergic to the strong active Vitamin C but it made no sense since I have used serums with Vitamin C in the past and loved the instant result. The second attempt I mixed this serum with My Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief and I got the instant brightness and glow overnight! I continued to use this product and my skin looked amazing – smoother, bright and super healthy! I still have no idea why it reacted the way it did with the first moisturizer but I’m glad that I gave it another shot.

So, I would recommend mixing this with theย Moisture Surge or testing it out with different face creams to see what works for you.
