GlamGlow PowerCleanse Daily Dual Cleanser Review

GlamGlow PowerCleanse Daily Dual Cleanser

Hello everyone!

This is the first product that I’ve ever tried from GlamGlow and let’s just say that this was a good first impression. What intrigued me about this cleanser is that it contains a mud and an oil that transform into foam. I’ve tried oil cleansers before but never mud and I know that mud masks are great for oily skin types.

GlamGlow PowerCleanse Daily Dual Cleanser

This product claims to gently remove all traces of makeup and deep clean. I really enjoy trying different face washes but not all work for me as I have super oily skin and I get these little bumps on my forehead/cheeks when I don’t deep clean. This product is so fun to use as you don’t expect the mud and oil to foam up. It smells like a delicious green apple and leaves your skin feeling super clean and soft.

GlamGlow PowerCleanse Daily Dual Cleanser

The thing that I really enjoy about this packaging is that the oil and mud are stored separately and each have their own separate pump. Therefore, you can customize how much mud and oil you want. When my skin feels super dry I tend to pump more oil and when my skin is super greasy I will pump in more mud. This contains 75ml of oil and 75g of mud which is a decent amount and I feel like it will take me a while to finish this.

GlamGlow PowerCleanse Daily Dual Cleanser. One pump of oil and one pump of the mud.

I really enjoy this cleanser and would purchase again. I really want to try the other one as well, I believe it’s the YouthCleanse.

What do you suggest I try next from GlamGlow?

Elizabeth Arden Original Eight Hour Cream & Hand Treatment Review

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Hand Treatment

Hi everyone!

It’s still pretty chilly and dry where I live so I thought I would squeeze in one last review that is relevant to winter. I have done a review of the lip balm from the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour line a few posts ago and I have expressed my love for it especially this winter season! So I thought I would follow up with these two – one of which is a hand cream and the other is their original Eight Hour cream.

Elizabeth Arden Original Eight Hour Cream Hand Treatment

Starting off with the hand cream, this is a really nice non-greasy formula that sinks into the skin and helps a lot with dryness. However, the smell is super strong and unpleasant and noticeably lingers on until it dries down. I really enjoy the formula and would recommend this but if you are sensitive to strong smells, I would skip this one.

The original Eight Hour cream is meant to be used on dry hands/cuticles, to shape brows, to add shine to the cheeks, used on hair, lips, face, etc. So there are quite a few ways to use this product, I’ve even read how it helps to heal wounds and burns. The first thing I would like to mention is that this isn’t a traditional “cream” formula. It feels more so like an ointment or a very thick gel. The smell is beyond strong and rather medicinal. In saying that, this stuff is amazing at healing the skin and protecting the skin against the harsh winter months. It creates sort of like a “second skin” that sticks to you and helps repair any damage. I really can’t recommend that you use this as a hand cream because it’s too thick/sticky however, if you have a cut, burn, or a rash this stuff is amazing!

MAC Prep + Prime Fix+ (Rose, Coconut, Lavender) Review

MAC Prep + Prime Fix+ Rose Coconut Lavender

Hello again!

I purchased this set a while ago and wasn’t going to do a review on it since this is a limited edition set (Snow Ball collection) that MAC came out with during the holidays. However, once I heard that they made these scents permanent I knew I wanted to talk about them!

I had stayed clear from setting sprays in general for a while because I had bad experiences with a few products that I will review soon. Some have a horrible nozzle and tend to spray blobs of liquid onto your face, some have horrible scents, and some just do absolutely nothing for you. So when I saw this set I’m not going to lie; I was excited because of the different scents and bought it right away.

The first time I tried this, it was on bare skin and I liked how it sunk in and gave a slight glow/dewy-ness to my skin. Bare in mind that I currently have dehydrated (due to dry/cold Canadian winter) but very oily skin. I then tried this out once I had done a full face of makeup and I realized that this just smoothed out my foundation and settled down my powder and just gave a nice creamy effect to my skin. I did not feel that this prolonging my makeup nor did I expect it to. I know this has moisturizing properties and I just wanted it to freshen my makeup or to give some moisture to my skin on no makeup days, which it did and therefore I’m happy with it.

The Rose scent is very pleasant and not too crazy overpowering. The lavender is nice and mild even though it has to be my least favourite out of the three. The coconut scent is my favourite! – though the color is the least attractive. The mist is very fine and isn’t too harsh (distributes evenly) and I love how this little set allows you to try them all. Each bottle has 30ml of product.

Etude House Honey Cera Lip Oil Review

Etude House Honey Cera Treatment Lip Oil

Hello everyone!

As I’m writing this review we are having major snow/freezing rain in Canada! On that note, I thought that a lip oil review would be suitable for today’s post.

I have wanted to try a lip oil for a while now and had my eye on the Clarins’ one and was about to purchase until I stumbled upon this one by Etude House on eBay. The packaging looks almost identical and the name ‘honey’ made me think of a sweet nourishing formula. I decided to give this one a try and at only $10 CAD (Clarins’ lip oil is $25 CAD) I really wasn’t going to lose much if I didn’t enjoy it.

Etude House Honey Cera Treatment Lip Oil

Upon applying the product I noticed the applicator and again, this looks identical to the Clarins’ applicator. It picks up a good amount of product and allows for quick even application. This has a pleasant sweet scent and it feels great on the lips! Not heavy; but a nice light-weight oil that has a gorgeous shine (as oils do!). I have applied this on top of lipstick and lip liner however, that was not a good idea because oil tends to rub off any traces of makeup however the shine is so gorgeous and long wearing while still comfortable that I wanted it to work. Now, I will mostly use this at night or on no makeup days or at least no lipstick days.

Etude House Honey Cera Treatment Lip Oil

All in all, this is a good product and I currently have used most of it up and plan to finish and repurchase for next winter. Item contains 7ml of product and contains expiry date on bottom which I appreciate.

Elizabeth Arden Lip Protectant Stick SPF 15 Review

Elizabeth Arden Lip Protectant Stick SPF 15

Hi everyone!

I know I’ve been away for a couple of months and I’m sorry! I really missed blogging and writing reviews that I had to come back on here to continue where I left off. Since I’m probably a little rusty I thought I would start off with something simple, like a lip balm to review for you guys today.

Elizabeth Arden Lip Protectant Stick SPF 15

So, I’ve been loving this stuff for the winter months because it’s one of the few lip balms I can count on to keep my lips moisturized for at least a few hours in this Canadian weather. I must warn you – the smell is a bit strange. I really can’t describe the scent but it doesn’t smell like a typical fruity lip balm but rather medicinal in a way. However, the scent does calm down after I apply lip liner/lipstick.

The consistency is really nice; it’s moisturizing and it softens your lips without feeling greasy or slippery. It absorbs into the lips while still leaving a layer of product on top to protect against dryness and the added sunscreen doesn’t hurt either. It’s a simple product – nothing fancy but it works and I really enjoy it. I’m at the end of mine now so I need to look around for another lip balm or I may just buy another tube of this.

Garnier Miracle Eye Cream Review + Swatches

Garnier Miracle Eye Cream

Hi everyone,

This eye cream intrigued me because of the many claims that it makes. I mostly want to prevent lines and wrinkles around my eyes and if an eye cream claims to reduce darkness as well, I will be more than happy to try it out.

Garnier Miracle Eye Cream

As you can read from the packaging; there are many beneficial ingredients in this eye cream that will help reduce wrinkles and lines and will improve firmness and brighten the eye area.

Garnier Miracle Eye Cream

The packaging is very lightweight and I really enjoy that it is a tube rather than a jar so I don’t have to dip my finger in the product. Now, the strange thing about this eye cream is that it is pigmented! When you squeeze out the product it is white but once blended in I notice that it turns into a concealer-like cream. Honestly, the packaging does not make it clear that this has color pigments and is a eye cream/concealer hybrid. I personally enjoy this aspect about this eye cream but from searching up some reviews others were not happy with the color and the fact that it wasn’t made aware to them that this is colored.

Squeezed out of the tube.

Garnier Miracle Eye Cream

Slightly spread out to show pigmentation – not fully blended in.

Garnier Miracle Eye Cream

I wonder if the color changes depending on your skintone because some claim that it turned a bright orange on them. However, my personal experience with this is that it slightly conceals the darkness under my eyes while hydrating that area. It is great to wear alone for no makeup days or under concealer as it allows the concealer to glide on and not look dry. The product does not feel greasy or heavy at all and absorbs really nicely.

I’m a big fan of this and would recommend however, it is best to try the tester in store as I’m not sure if the color will flatter every skin tone. I’m very fair and when using a tiny bit it is undetectable under my eyes.

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Review (+ Eye Concentrate Matrix)

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair

Hi everyone!

I’m excited to review this serum today because it’s a nice change from the last two products that I have reviewed and was disappointed by. I’m so obsessed with this product – I’m finishing my second bottle of it and already have a backup in my drawer!

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair

The Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex II (I just refer to this as the ANR serum) claims to make skin smoother, more radiant, younger, hydrated and more even in tone. It does this by maximizing the power of skin’s natural nighttime renewal. After going through 2 bottles of this, I have to say that I agree with all of the claims except for the “younger” one since I don’t have any wrinkles and so I can’t comment on that. This serum has made my skin look so healthy and radiant that I can’t stop using it. As many of you may know, I have an oily, breakout-prone skin and this does not break me out nor make me more greasy throughout the day. It is oil and fragrance-free which are the two things I always look for in skincare products.

I have to say that this has become my absolute favourite and I can not replace it with any other serum. Even though this is meant to be used in the evenings I actually apply this in the morning as well under my moisturizer and on those days I get so many compliments on my skin. This product comes in a few different sizes, I do prefer the smallest size just because it comes with a dropper and so you are exposing the product to air which makes it’s shelf life shorter in my opinion. I also have to point out that the dropper can separate from the cap – this happened to me on the first bottle that I purchased.

The other product that I want to also mention is the Advanced Night Repair Eye Concentrate Matrix, which is the little bottle next to the ANR serum. I received this as a sample in a gift with purchase and just had to mention that I’ve been loving this as well! It feels like a gel almost – it isn’t heavy or greasy feeling under the eyes and you apply this with a cute little massaging wand. I don’t think this is really sanitary but since it’s a tiny bottle; I’m not too bothered by it.

Synchronized Recovery Complex Eye Concentrate Matrix

Overall, this is a great serum – probably the first serum that I would recommend to anyone that wants to include one in their skincare routine. The eye concentrate is really nice too but I have other eye creams that are just as good.
