Wet n Wild ColorIcon Bronzer SPF 15 (Reserve Your Cabana) Review + Swatches

Hello again!

I have seen and heard many people comparing this highlighter to the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in “Dim Light” and so I had to pick it up. This is labelled as a bronzer but it is definitely a highlighter even for extremely fair skin tones. There are 2 other shades which are much darker and can be used as a bronzer. This review is on the shade “Reserve Your Cabana”.

The formula is very smooth, buttery, and very pigmented. It does not contain glitter or shimmer but gives a beautiful glow and reflects light which instantly brightens. It has an average wear time, it will last a whole school/work day. It also contains SPF 15 but I don’t think that is effective against sunburn.

I love using this for highlighting my nose and cupid’s bow because it is so subtle. This can be used all over the face, even under the eyes however, this powder can tend to settle into fine lines so it is not suitable for everyone. It can be used as an eyeshadow, it actually makes a nice subtle under brow highlight. I would describe this as a brightening powder rather than a highlight.

This is a great powder overall for brightening and for a natural highlight which I prefer on a daily basis. I highly recommend this, especially since it is only a couple dollars.

Chella Eyebrow Color Kit (Tantalizing Taupe) Review + Swatches

Chella Eyebrow Color Kit Tantalizing Taupe

Hi everyone!

This kit is amazing because it covers everything you would need to achieve the perfect brow. It contains an eyebrow pencil, eyebrow gel, highlighter pencil, and a sharpener. This review is on the shade “tantalizing taupe”, which is suppose to be a universal shade.

Chella Eyebrow Color Kit Tantalizing Taupe

Firstly, the brow pencil is a twist up waxy formula that makes it impossible to accidentally draw a harsh line. It is light in color but can be built up to a darker shade. The shade will cover many different hair colors except for those that prefer a warm (red, orange-toned) brow. It is an ashy shade which looks very flattering on me since my natural brows are cool-toned. It is not waterproof and fades when it is rubbed but I don’t touch my eyebrows during the day and they stay exactly the same by the end of the day – no smudges or fading.

I liked the eyebrow gel as it is clear in color and held my eyebrows in place without making them feel stiff or “crunchy”. The brush is slightly too big but since this is a clear gel, it was not a big deal. I liked the bristles on the brush because they grabbed onto my brow hairs and brushed them into place.

The highlighter pencil is amazing; it takes a few seconds to draw a line under my brows to clean them up instead of applying concealer which sometimes gets on my eyebrows. It is very creamy and blends easily. The highlighter pencil is in the shade “Ivory Lace”, which is the lightest shade. Please keep in mind that this kit comes with the highlighter shade “Latte” but I had asked for this one instead.

They also include a sharpener that you can use for the highlighter pencil and it has a closed lid that will hold the shavings until you empty it.

The highlighter shade is on top, under that is the eyebrow pencil swept once and the bottom swatch is multiple swipes of the eyebrow pencil.

I highly recommend this kit; I have only been using this for my brows since I received it! I have no complaints on any of these products.

Korres Mineral Illuminating Powder (Highlighter) Review + Swatches

Korres Mineral Illuminating Powder

Korres Mineral Illuminating Powder

Hi everyone!

This is the only loose highlighter I have in my collection and even though it takes more effort to use than a pressed one; The effect that it gives me is worth the little effort.

It is a finely milled powder that melts into my skin when I apply it lightly with a fan brush. The lasting power is amazing; it really sticks on and blends in with my face makeup so that there is no apparent line.

The shade itself is more peach/pink toned and it has fine glitter in it. I prefer to wear this at night because the glitter is noticeable in the sunlight and I like a more natural highlight during the day. The glitter does not look cheap; it gives an intense glow. The pictures below don’t do this highlighter justice; it is very intense and glowy, I just couldn’t capture that glow very well in the pictures.

I really like this brand because they leave out all the harmful chemicals that are used in many makeup products. I saw this product on eBay a few months ago and it sold out pretty quickly.

Overall, I recommend this if you are looking for an intense peach/pink toned loose highlighter.

e.l.f. Baked Blush (Highlighter) in Pinktastic Review+Swatches

e.l.f. Baked Blush Pinktastic

Hi everyone!

Today I thought I would do a review on this highlighter which I have used for so long and that I absolutely love. First of all, this is suppose to be a “baked blush” but it is obviously a highlighter; even on very fair skin tones. It is a soft pink champagne color that is beautiful for everyone I imagine since it is pigmented enough to show up on a much darker skin tone than mine. I have the baked highlighters from e.l.f. and comparing this to those, this one has better pigmentation and the powder is softer and creamier.

e.l.f. Baked Blush Pinktastic

This is one of the few highlighters I have with a pink hue and it is very flattering. It has micro glitter in it but honestly, you can not see it unless you stare at it in direct sunlight with a magnifying glass. It almost melts into the skin, so you don’t have the appearance of stripes on your cheekbones.

I love and definitely recommend this highlighter.

Sleek Face Contour Kit (Light) Review + Swatches

Sleek Face Contour Kit

Sleek Contour Kit

Hello again, hope your Sundays are going well!

Today I have a review and swatches on the Sleek MakeUp face contour kit in LIGHT. If you haven’t heard of Sleek, it is a UK brand, they describe their products as having strong pigmentation and being high quality. Since this brand is not available in Canada, you can either purchase it directly from their website or buy it on eBay. I choose to buy it on eBay because I found a great seller (links below) that sold this for $10.99 CAD with FREE international shipping.

First off I really like the packaging it is sleek and compact, great for travelling as it has two products in one. You can tell I have really used this product with all the makeup markings on the compact. It is a smooth plastic case, it’s not like the NARS packaging but it still gets makeup marks on it.

Sleek Contour KitSleek Contour Kit

This contour kit consists of a warm contour shade and an extremely pigmented almost-pink, champagne color. They also have this contour kit in medium and dark. The highlight shade does not have any glitter in it and is much more pigmented than the contour shade as you will see from the finger swatches below; it is intense! Some bloggers even compare it to the The Balm’s Mary-Lou Manizer.

The contour shade looks very warm at first but when blended in and used with a light hand it somehow just works. My skin tone is very light, so I do prefer a cooler taupe shade to contour with during the day as this looks the most natural but when my skin tone is a bit darker, it works for me.

Sleek Contour KitSleek Contour Kit

The only problem I see with this product is that both contour and highlighter do not last as long as I would like on my face. I do have somewhat oily skin but I feel this just fades away too fast, so I like to use it when I know I will only be going out for less than 5 hours or so. Also, once when I was self-tanned I tried using this as a bronzer and that went horribly wrong, it applied patchy; so I will stick with using it as an cheekbone and nose contour for night.

What is your favorite contour product? Do you like cooker or warmer tones?

(Unfortunately, the seller has sold out of these kits but I found a new seller that is offering them for the same price)
