My Clarins is a fairly new line that Clarins has come out with – the amazing thing about it is that the products in this range are up to 95% natural and vegan and I also have to mention that the price point of these products are very reasonable!
The products in this range all include good-for-you ingredients and they specifically state that they are free from sulfates, parabens, mineral oil, formaldehydes, and so on. They also mention that even though the products smell amazing there is less than 1% of synthetic fragrances; which I really enjoy because my skin tends to become textured when I use heavily fragranced skincare.
Starting off with the Re-Fresh beauty mist – it comes housed in a very luxurious-feeling glass bottle which is rather heavy. It contains 100ml of product which is a good amount for a facial spray and it is meant to be used during skincare application or after makeup. I have used this both ways and I love setting my face with this after makeup application – it settles down the powder and gives a skin-like sheen without disturbing my makeup. The scent is amazing; it is fruity and floral and is fairly strong but does not linger. This contains coconut water, robina flower water, and extracts of alpenrose, fog and acerola seed. I really enjoy the finish that it gives my skin after heavily powdering it (I have a very oily skin type).
This moisturizer also comes housed in a glass jar which is very pretty and I do like it however, I wish it came with a pump as I wouldn’t have to stick my fingers into the product every time I want to apply it. This also has a beautiful fruity/floral scent that makes me happy every time I apply it on my skin. This also contains the same ingredients as the facial mist with the exception of goji berry instead of robina flower. I would describe the texture of this as being a light-weight cream because it feels very moisturizing but soaks in quickly and does not leave me with a greasy film. It doesn’t shorten the longevity of my makeup, which is very important to me, as I’ve liked moisturizers in the past but they ended up acting strange under makeup (balling up, making me more oily than usual over time). This has become my everyday moisturizer for weeks now!
I absolutely love these skincare products and would purchase once these run out because I use them daily in my skincare/makeup routine. I highly recommend both.

Today I want to review these two products since I have been testing them out for a few weeks and I’m pleasantly surprised with both!
I know that those of you who are familiar with my blog and have read my previous posts are thinking how on earth this OIL primer is working out for me since I have an extremely oily skin type. And all I have to say to that is; yes, I know I’m shocked as well! The first time I tried this oil/serum product as a primer I was going out for only an hour or two so I thought that even if it looked terrible and made me look like an oil slick it wouldn’t be too bad. However, after the few hours I noticed that my skin didn’t look like an oily mess; it looked hydrated and my foundation was very smooth and healthy looking! I guess my skin didn’t feel the need to produce a massive amount of oil because I had applied this product? – honestly, I’m not quite sure how this works but I’m so glad I tried it! The scent is very pleasant and once you shake it up the oil and serum blend together and after patting it on the skin, it allows foundation to glide on seamlessly on top.
This cleanser is a nice change from the ones that I usually like; which strip my skin of all product/oils. Because my skin is very oily and I usually feel the need for a cleanser that deep cleans. This leaves my skin clean but very comfortable as it hydrates while it cleanses so I don’t feel that pulling sensation when I dry my face. I have been using this in the mornings when I don’t need such a deep clean and this product leaves my skin with a glow that is surprising as I have never had a cleanser do that before!
I highly recommend these products if you have a dry skin type and for oily skin types as well as I have recently read a lot about why our skin produces so much oil and it’s usually due to it being dehydrated!

I’m going to start off this post by stating that this is the best acne treatment product that I have used thus far. It is not like other treatments which dry and irritate your skin!
Firstly, I like that this comes in a squeeze bottle because I don’t have to dip my finger in a jar; this is much more sanitary. The bottle contains 50ml of product which is decent, if not generous compared to other acne treatments. The product itself smells rather minty and pleasant and feels cooling upon application.
I was a little confused at first whether if this was a moisturizer that helps with acne or if it is just a treatment and I need to follow up with a moisturizer. So after using this I realized that this is an acne treatment that is not drying and feels rather hydrating on (reminder: I have extremely oily skin). I could skip the moisturizer with this but I prefer to follow up with a moisturizer because either way the ingredient that kills acne (Benzoyl Peroxide 2.5%) is drying after a few days of use. However, this ingredient is much more effective on me than Salicylic acid which is in most acne treatment products.
Currently my skin is clear – no breakouts (thanks to the Clinique 3-step!) but I tend to get an area of tiny breakouts once in a while or a small breakout during that time of the month so when that happens I generously apply this before I sleep and wake up to see a big reduction of the breakout! I continue using this until I feel that the breakout is not visible and that usually takes about 2 nights.
I love and highly recommend this product; it is definitely a staple in my skincare drawer since it is the quickest and most gentle way of clearing up the skin.
It’s going to take a few blog posts to get me into the routine of doing product reviews again. I initially wanted to take a week off from blogging to focus on other things but that somehow turned into 3 months. However, I’m back now and I missed blogging so much that I can’t imagine taking another break.
I thought I would review this range of body care products today since the weather is starting to get cold and that is when I struggle most with dry skin.
The first step I take when treating dry skin is to exfoliate and get rid of the dead skin cells. BVspa has two types of scrubs; one is a salt scrub which is very gentle and the other is a sugar scrub which is more intense. I like using the salt scrub more often and the sugar scrub about once a week. I use the scrubs in the shower and afterwards I use the body lotion to hydrate my skin. Then I will go in with the body butter on my elbows and knees that tend to get really dry.
What I like about these products is that they smell so good that I want to eat them and that the body lotion and the body butter are not at all greasy and absorb fairly quickly. When I use these products together my skin feels the smoothest it has ever felt. The ingredients are what makes these products so effective in treating and maintaining soft hydrated skin.
What is your favourite body scrub/lotion?

Disclaimer: I received these products for reviewing purposes. All my reviews are my honest opinion whether I bought the product(s) or it was sent to me.
I wear makeup on a daily basis and so I need to use a cleanser that will deep clean and remove any residue from my pores. This cleanser is the small 30ml that came in a gift with purchase.
You only need to use a small amount of this creamy cleanser since it really starts to foam up when you rub it into your skin. I sometimes use a facial brush to work in the product but either way after I use this cleanser I feel that my skin is thoroughly clean. It doesn’t dry out my skin like other cleansers that deep clean; I don’t feel tightness after washing my face with this cleanser. It leaves my skin feeling very soft and hydrated.
I highly recommend this cleanser; they have different formulas of this cleanser for different skin types.
This gel claims to remove blackheads, whiteheads, controls oil, keeps acne under control and unclogs pores. I have been using this for a while now and have seen some noticeable results.
The packaging is simple but appealing as it contains a pump which doesn’t allow any product to be wasted. The product itself is a light gel formula that quickly dries as you apply it. I apply this over my entire face since it claims to control oil, soothe and provide hydration. After using this for a while I do notice that my skin appears brighter and the texture has improved. I believe my skin is brighter because there are fewer blackheads on my t-zone. However, my skin hasn’t improved in terms of oiliness; it is still very much oily but it has improved in texture – it is smoother and softer.
I still use blackhead strips and exfoliate to deeply clean my pores because I wear makeup on a daily basis and it is required for me to keep my skin from breaking out. However, I felt that this improved my skin overall so I will continue to use this.
What do you recommend for getting rid of blackheads?
I loved the Hylamide SubQ Anti-Age Advanced Serum so much that I wanted to try more from this line. I have tried many eye creams but have never tried an eye serum and so I was curious to see the difference.
This eye serum (packaged in a bottle with a dropper) makes many claims; to deeply hydrate, get rid of any dynamic lines, textural irregularities, puffiness and dark circles. While I do not have puffiness or wrinkles around my eye area, I do have some darkness due to the thin skin which allows my blue/purple veins to show through. I also struggle with dehydration under my eyes.
I noticed that after using this eye cream everyday for about 1-2 months that it definitely improved the skin around my eyes by deeply hydrating it. It is a serum so it absorbs well without feeling heavy; therefore, it sits very nicely under concealer because it hydrates without creasing the concealer or making it look cake-y.
I always use an eye cream in the morning and at night even though I don’t have any major under eye issues; I want to keep it that way and prevent any wrinkles. I also find that using an eye cream helps stop under eye concealer creasing.
I love that this eye cream comes in a tube with a pump; many eye creams come in little pots and jars, which is not convenient if you have long nails. It contains 30 mL of product which is decent for an eye cream.
This eye cream claims to diminish fine lines, puffiness, and dark circles by stimulating collagen synthesis, cell regeneration and cell synthesis. Basically; it has a high concentration of hyaluronic acid and peptides which deeply hydrate the under eyes. I don’t have any puffiness or fine lines but I do have thin skin around my eyes and my veins are visible (blue/purple tones). After switching my other eye cream for this one I noticed that it has plumped up my under eyes; which gave me a fresh, well rested look. It also sits very nicely under my concealer and helps it to look hydrated. Sometimes when I use thicker eye creams or when I don’t apply an eye cream it makes my concealer crease however, this is the perfect consistency to hydrate while absorbing and not sitting on the skin.
Pumped from the tube. It has a very light cream/ almost gel consistency.
These serums have made my skin glow and look very healthy; it is also a bonus that they are natural and organic! This review is on the Bio Brightening C Serum (left) and the Pure Hyaluronic Acid Eye and Face Serum (right).
I usually use the vitamin C serum at night because it has a greasy formula that doesn’t fully absorb into my oily skin. I love using vitamin C serums and creams because they help brighten the complexion and lighten acne scars which I currently have a few of. This product also has a scent which is neither pleasant nor bothersome for me.
Hyaluronic Acid serums are used to deeply hydrate the skin, giving it a healthy glow and plumping the skin. This formula is very thin and quickly absorbs into my skin so I would use this during the day. Even though I have an oily skin type, I always moisturize so that my makeup sits well on my face and because not applying moisturizer will make my skin produce even more oil.
Overall, I like both of these serums as they have given me a healthier complexion by brightening, hydrating, and evening out my skin texture. Viva Healthy products are paraben, GMO, gluten, artificial fragrance and colorant free.
Exfoliating is an essential step in my skincare routine but I don’t like the irritation that some exfoliating products can cause. This is a non-abrasive gel formula that only affects dead skin cells and does not damage new ones.
The product is housed in a jar with a twist off lid which is fine because this product needs to be used with dry hands and dry skin so it doesn’t make a mess. I apply a small amount of the gel onto my face and start rubbing the product in. I notice that after a few seconds small balls start to form. At first I thought that it might be the product clumping up but I have tested this on a flat surface and no balls were formed while rubbing; so I can only assume that the small balls are dead skin cells. After rinsing off the product, my skin feels incredibly smooth and I feel as though I have exfoliated but my skin is not red or irritated at all.
I would recommend this product if you have sensitive skin, acne, etc. because it won’t irritate or disturb the blemishes. This product is Paraben, gluten, GMO, artificial fragrances, perfumes and colourant free. This brand is also cruelty-free and their products are all Hypoallergenic.
