MAC Pro Longwear Lip Pencil Review + Swatches (Lip Pencil vs Pro Longwear Lip Pencil)

MAC Pro Longwear Lip Pencil Morning Coffee Absolutely It Good Timing Stripdown

Welcome back everyone!

Today I have a few MAC lip liners to review for you guys. Three of them being the Pro Longwear formula and the third one down is the regular Lip Pencil. I got the three Pro Longwears in a set a while back and bought the regular lip pencil a couple weeks ago because I wanted to compare formulas.

I usually stick with neutral shades when it comes to lip liners because I can make them work with a variety of lipstick shades. The bright pink shade (Good Timing) came in the pack of three and I don’t think I will be using this much/at all but I bought it anyway because I love the two other shades (Morning Coffee & Absolutely It).

A difference that you can see right away is that the regular Lip Pencil formula is a bit stiffer and not as creamy. It’s a wooden pencil which requires sharpening but you don’t need to sharpen as much as the Pro Longwear formula because it doesn’t dull as easily due to it being stiffer. The Pro Longwear is much more pigmented and creamy but doesn’t build the best; if you try to deepen the shade the formula starts to look and feel heavy and dry. Also, this formula can dry up slightly after time because the product is loose in the plastic pencil (it can break and fall right out of the pencil). So they both have their pros and cons; the most important one that I have to mention is that the Pro Longwear stays on much longer and can survive a greasy meal without completely rubbing off.

Swatched top to bottom: Stripdown (Lip Pencil), Morning Coffee, Absolutely It and Good Timing (all Pro Longwear Lip Pencils).

After rubbing on hand consecutively for 2 minutes straight.

As you can probably tell by looking at the photo above that the regular formula was almost completely rubbed off while the Pro Longwear has stayed on well with a bit of fading.

So which one is my favourite you ask? Honestly, I like both, but I may lean towards the Pro Longwear because of it’s longevity.

Etude House Soft Touch Auto Lip Liner Review + Swatch

Etude House Soft Touch Auto Lipliner

Hello again!

One day as I was looking through eBay listings this lip liner from Etude House caught my attention because you all know how much I love the Etude House Drawing Eyebrow Pencil. These twist up pencils from Etude House are super affordable; I bought this for about $5 CAD.

Etude House Soft Touch Lip Liner

I prefer twist up pencils because they don’t require you to pull out a sharpener however, they do tend to dry up and have a more drier formula generally. This pencil is not at all dry; it’s creamy, pigmented and glides effortlessly on the lips. It’s super creamy that it allows you to fill in your lips without it dragging and skipping. I enjoy everything about the formula except that it isn’t as long wearing as I prefer. I’m use to the longevity of Estee Lauder, MAC, and Clinique and this doesn’t really compete with those. I have to carry this with me because I know it will fade/wipe away after eating and drinking, maybe even talking sometimes. The other negative aspect that I have to mention is that you really don’t get much product – you get 0.2g which is not even the length of your pinky finger. If I wore this everyday, I would get about a month’s worth of use which is disappointing.

Would I repurchase? No. I like the shade and the creamy formula but I have better lip liners that this can’t even compare to.

What do you think? What’s your favourite product from Etude House?

Bite Beauty Lip Pencil and Amuse Bouche Lipstick Review + Swatches

Bite Beauty Lip Pencil Amuse Bouche Lipstick

Hello everyone!

I’ve been obsessed with lip liners lately; I’ve purchased a bunch over the last month or so and was beyond excited when Influenster sent me these two lip liners and mini lipsticks from bite beauty complimentary to try out and review!

I prefer pencil lip liners over mechanical ones; I find they are creamier – not sure if that is because the product is exposed rather than covered like pencil liners. Anyways, creaminess is a must because I like to fill in my lips with the liner and sometimes I won’t bother with lipstick and just wear the liner on it’s own. I really like the matte look it gives and the longevity that I get is great!

These lip liners are super creamy and can definitely be worn on its own – they glide on; they don’t drag at all. They are super pigmented so there is no need to layer. The longevity is fairly decent as well; they aren’t transfer-proof so they will wear off when eating but they last fairly well.

Both of these shades (swatched below) are gorgeous – the nude is very flattering on me since I have very fair skin; it doesn’t wash me out because of the pink/slightly peach undertone. The dark shade is super vampy and I never shy away from a bold lip – I would wear this to death during the autumn/winter months. I like how you can just put on some mascara and a bold lip color makes it look like you spent time doing your makeup.

I tried the mini matching lipsticks (Amuse Bouche) with the liners and I really like how pigmented they are. Their both super creamy and have a semi matte formula. Similar to the lip liners, these aren’t transfer proof and will wipe away but they last for a decent time. The lipsticks have a pleasant scent to them – it’s not over-powering but if you are sensitive to that; it may not be your cup of tea.

Overall, I really enjoyed the formula and shade of both the lip liners and the lipsticks; I would strongly recommend both.

No Cosmetics No Bleeding Lips Secret Lip Liner Review

No Bleeding Lips Lip Liner

Hi everyone!

My makeup collection is lacking in lip liners and so I was excited to get a lip liner that goes with any shade of lipstick! This is a “clear” lip liner that does not have any color but is suppose to stop lipstick from feathering/bleeding outside of the lips.

No Bleeding Lips Secret Lip Liner

I like the sleek packaging with the pink writing but the actual twist up mechanism could be improved as it pushes the product up but does not pull it back down. I’m not sure if this is an issue with the one I have or if they all have this problem.

I found this lip liner to work well in keeping very slippery, moisturizing lipsticks on the lips. The formula itself is smooth and glides on easily; upon application it blurs out natural lines on the lips (I fill in my entire lips with this) and it holds on to the lipstick and doesn’t allow it to slide around.

I really like this as a lip primer, especially for moisturizing lipsticks that tend to slide around and not last as long as matte formulas.

Younique Moodstruck Lip Liner Review + Swatches

Younique Moodstruck Precision Pencil Lip Liner Pompous

Hi everyone!

This lip liner is a beautiful autumn shade that would suit many different skin tones. It is advertised as being long-wearing, waterproof, and smudge-proof. This review is on the shade “pompous”.

I like this formula for a lip liner because it dries down and doesn’t move around or “bleed” outside of my lips. Once it completely dries, it is smudge and waterproof. I enjoyed wearing this as a liner and it lasted a good amount of time on my lips with some fading after meals at the edges. The formula is creamy but it isn’t creamy enough to wear all over my lips; I found it slightly drying when I filled in my lips. It was also a bit patchy upon application (see top swatch) and that only worsened after eating lunch.

This plum/purple shade is gorgeous! I love to reach for similar shades in the fall and winter time.

L’oreal Lip liner (Lasting Plum&Reds) Review + Swatches

L'oreal crayon petite lip liner reds

Hello again!

These lip liners are some of my favourites in my collection. They are very creamy, water-resistant, and the shades are beautiful!

This red shade is a true red that leans a little towards pink (swatches below). This shade looks good all year-round; it is perfect for a fresh summer red or a classic red in the winter. This liner just glides on; it is so creamy that I use it as a lipstick sometimes. It is also water resistant and stays on very well all day with some fading after a few hours. This formula is the “Crayon Petite” line.

L'oreal colour riche lasting plum

This shade is from the “Colour Riche” line and it is a anti-feathering liner and sharpener on the other end. This formula is a touch less creamy but it is still comfortable to wear as a lipstick. It also stays on longer and wears better than the red formula. I love this shade; it is a plum that has some brown in it. This is a shade that anyone can wear; whether you have a very light or dark skin tone. This formula does not smudge as easily as the red shade.

“Reds” is on the top and “Lasting Plum” is on the bottom.
