Bite Beauty Lip Pencil and Amuse Bouche Lipstick Review + Swatches

Bite Beauty Lip Pencil Amuse Bouche Lipstick

Hello everyone!

I’ve been obsessed with lip liners lately; I’ve purchased a bunch over the last month or so and was beyond excited when Influenster sent me these two lip liners and mini lipsticks from bite beauty complimentary to try out and review!

I prefer pencil lip liners over mechanical ones; I find they are creamier – not sure if that is because the product is exposed rather than covered like pencil liners. Anyways, creaminess is a must because I like to fill in my lips with the liner and sometimes I won’t bother with lipstick and just wear the liner on it’s own. I really like the matte look it gives and the longevity that I get is great!

These lip liners are super creamy and can definitely be worn on its own – they glide on; they don’t drag at all. They are super pigmented so there is no need to layer. The longevity is fairly decent as well; they aren’t transfer-proof so they will wear off when eating but they last fairly well.

Both of these shades (swatched below) are gorgeous – the nude is very flattering on me since I have very fair skin; it doesn’t wash me out because of the pink/slightly peach undertone. The dark shade is super vampy and I never shy away from a bold lip – I would wear this to death during the autumn/winter months. I like how you can just put on some mascara and a bold lip color makes it look like you spent time doing your makeup.

I tried the mini matching lipsticks (Amuse Bouche) with the liners and I really like how pigmented they are. Their both super creamy and have a semi matte formula. Similar to the lip liners, these aren’t transfer proof and will wipe away but they last for a decent time. The lipsticks have a pleasant scent to them – it’s not over-powering but if you are sensitive to that; it may not be your cup of tea.

Overall, I really enjoyed the formula and shade of both the lip liners and the lipsticks; I would strongly recommend both.

Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Lipstick (410 Dynamic) Review + Swatches

Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Lipstick (410 Dynamic) Review + Swatches

Hello again!

I will be reviewing another Estee Lauder lipstick; if you missed my last one click here to view it. This is a more “wearable” shade compared to the other one; it also has a cream finish unlike the 450 Insolent Plum shade that was very glossy.

Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Lipstick (410 Dynamic) Review + Swatches

I really like the packaging of these lipsticks; they are very sturdy and won’t break apart in your purse. This lipstick has such a creamy pigmented formula; it is one of the best in terms of “creaminess”. This one doesn’t move around a lot like the other formula however, it does leave a slight stain after it wears away. This one wears much longer and will only wipe away if you eat or touch your lips. I love that this shade has a mauve undertone; that is usually the color that I reach for when wanting an “everyday” shade.

Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Lipstick (410 Dynamic) Review + Swatches

Overall, this is a better formula than the other shade; it isn’t patchy, it’s more pigmented, and doesn’t move around nearly as much. I definitely recommend the cream formulas over the glossy ones from Estee Lauder.

Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Lipstick (450 Insolent Plum) Review + Swatches

Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Lipstick 450 Insolent Plum

Hello everyone!

I’m so sorry if it seems like I’m not interested in blogging anymore – that can’t be further from the truth! Honestly, I felt like I didn’t have time to keep up the 3 times a week schedule because I was working full-time but now that I have cut back some hours at work I will be dedicated to this blog just like I was when I first started.

So, today I want to review this lipstick that was in a Block Buster (purchase with purchase) set a few months ago. I will review each of the products separately since there is too many products and the post will be crazy long. Also, because I don’t think this set is available however, each product can be purchased on it’s own.

Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Lipstick 450 Insolent Plum

I love wearing deeper shades during the fall and winter months so I choose the “Smokey” set instead of the “Neutral” one. I usually prefer a matte finish when it comes to deeper lipstick shades but I was excited to try a glossy finish. Starting off with what I liked: this formula is very hydrating and pigmented; it glides on and feels like a lip balm – it isn’t heavy at all. It also has a light vanilla scent that I find to be pleasant. However, I wasn’t so thrilled about the longevity – due to the nature of glossy lipsticks they tend to rub off and move around a lot more than matte ones. After about 3 hours or so it starts to fade away leaving a light plum stain. Also this shade is slightly patchy; I would highly recommend using this with a lip liner to keep the color inside the lines and to make it look more seamless.

Overall, I like this lipstick and the issues I mentioned above can be avoided with first applying a lip liner, filling in my lips and then applying this lipstick.

LA Splash Studio Shine Lip Lustre (Jasmine) Review + Swatch

LA Splash Studio Shine Lip Lustre

Hello everyone!

I have done a few LA Splash lip product reviews in the past and the shades that I reviewed were more appropriate for the winter/autumn time but this bright pink shade is perfect for summer!

In my past reviews I mentioned that the formula of each shade slightly differs even though they are suppose to be the same formula. This particular shade has a mousse-y texture which is very pigmented similar to the Smitten Lip Tint Mousse which I reviewed here.  It glides on easily and dries quickly to a matte finish. There is no need to layer this as it is opaque on the first swipe.

This didn’t have a strong smell like the other lip products from LA Splash, I’m not sure whether it is only this shade since the other Lip Lustres did have a scent; read my review on those here, or if they got rid of the smell overall.

“Jasmine” swiped once. Dries to a demi-matte finish.

LA Splash Studio Shine Lip Lustre Jasmine

I really like how all of LA Splash liquid lipsticks are completely transfer, smudge and water proof. However, they don’t fade nicely after have a meal but rather start flaking off in tiny bits. These Lip Lustres and the Smitten Lip Tint Mousse fade better than the Lip Coutures.

e.l.f. Studio Conditioning Lip Balm Review + Swatches

e.l.f. Conditioning Lip Balm

Hi everyone!

This is the most pigmented lip balm that I’ve seen! It is more so like a moisturizing lipstick in a pot rather than a lip balm. This review is on the shade “Nice & Natural”.

e.l.f. Studio Conditioning Lip Balm

The only con about this product is that it comes in a pot and the pot is very bulky. Other than that, the formula is not greasy, extremely pigmented and very moisturizing. Since this is a moisturizing formula it does not last long on the lips but is great if you have dry lips (especially in the winter). I usually use my fingers to apply this as it is quicker but it can also be applied with a lip brush for a more precise application.

This shade is a nice brown/beige nude with a touch of mauve. It is a gorgeous shade that would look good with any makeup look.

LA Splash Studio Shine Lip Lustre (Dia De Los Muertos Collection) Review + Swatches

La Splash Studio Shine Lip Lustre

Hi everyone!

These are definitely the most unique liquid lipsticks I own! I will be reviewing the duo-chrome shade (Catrina, right), the gold/bronze shade (Guadalupe, left) and the deep plum shade (Valentina, middle).

These colors do not look like they do in the packaging; the Valentina shade looks similar but the other two are completely different. I like the cartoons on the handles; they are unique and different from the other liquid lipsticks they sell.

The formula of Guadalupe and Catrina are mousse-y and creamier than Valentina, which is more liquid and applies slightly streaky. I found this formula to be similar to the Smitten Lip Tint Mousse that I have reviewed here. Similar to their other formulas; these are water and smudge proof, non-transferable but do fade away when eating greasy foods.

Left to right: Guadalupe (metallic gold), Catrina (duo-chrome teal/plum) and Valentina (cranberry/plum).

LA Splash Smitten LipTint Mousse Review + Swatches

LA Splash Smitten Lip Tint Mousse

Hi everyone!

I have done a review on the “Lip Couture” liquid lipsticks a few months ago, which you can find here. This review is on the Smitten Liptints in the shades Lavender B, Hermione, Nymph-adora, and Raven Claw.

The formula of these are very similar to the Lip Couture however I find that these are slightly more mousse-y and not as liquid in texture. They have the same scent as the Lip Couture; very strong chemical smell that fades as the product dries on the lips. The longevity is very good until I have a meal and then the product starts breaking up right away; more so on the inner parts of my lips. These don’t fade away but rather flake off in tiny bits.

Left to right: Lavender B, Hermione, Nymph-adora, and Raven Claw.

LA Splash Smitten LipTint Mousse

These are all very pigmented however, Raven Claw is slightly streaky and needs a few thin layers to get an even application. Click here to see my review on the Velvet Matte formulas which are my favourite from LA Splash!

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick Review + Swatches

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick

Hello again!

These Revlon lipsticks come in a huge array of shades (82 to be exact) and different finishes. These 3 lipsticks (left-right: Berry Haute, Berry Rich, and Blushing Nude) have a “creme” finish. I will be doing a review on the other finishes/colors soon.

These lipsticks come in a sleek black and gold packaging and look rather luxurious for the price (about $6 CAD). They have a see through lid (on the top) and the sticker on the bottom, which contains the shade name, is color-matched with the lipstick shade.

The formula is extremely creamy, pigmented, and feels very light-weight and moisturizing. They last an average amount of time on my lips (about 4-5 hours) so they do need to be reapplied throughout the day. I find that layering a lip liner under these will prolong the wear time.

LA Splash Velvetmatte Liquid Lipstick Review + Swatches

LA Splash velvetmatte liquid lipstick

Hi everyone!

I have been wearing these liquid lipsticks non-stop since I have received them! This review is on the shades Exposed, Irresistible, and Mistress.

I love the frosted glass tube and the rose gold caps; this has to be the nicest packaging that LA Splash has come out with so far. The applicator is the same as the others (Lip Couture, Smitten Lip Tint, etc.) It is stiff but offers a flat side which gives better control of the placement of product upon application.

The formula of these differ from the Lip Couture; these are less drying and they fade away throughout the day or after a meal as opposed to flaking off. I prefer this formula since it is more comfortable to wear and doesn’t look patchy after having a meal. These are completely smudge and water proof once they are dried.

Top to bottom: Exposed, Irresistible, and Mistress.

LA Splash velvetmatte liquid lipstick Exposed Irresistible Mistress

The shade Mistress is a bit tricky to apply as it tends to look patchy/streaky and needs thicker layers. However, the two nude shades are very pigmented and look flawless in one swipe. I love and highly recommend these if you are in search of a liquid lipstick; this formula is my favourite by far.

Essence Longlasting Lipstick (All You Need Is Red) Review + Swatches

Essence Longlasting Lipstick

Hi everyone!

I usually wear red lipsticks during winter and since this claims to be long-lasting, I was curious as to how well it would hold up during the day. This review is on the shade “All You Need Is Red”.

Essence Longlasting Lipstick

The product itself has a light, artificial berry scent which is mild and pleasant in my opinion. The formula is amazing as it is extremely moisturizing without being greasy; I do not need to wear a lip balm underneath. It is not transfer-proof but it doesn’t make a mess; it won’t smear or bleed outside of the lines, unless you wipe it off. It stays on for a decent amount of time with some fading (5+ hours) but will completely wear off when eating.

This lipstick is not extremely pigmented, I’m not sure if it is this particular shade, but it can be built up with a couple of swipes. This red shade has an orange, warm undertone as opposed to a cool, pink undertone.

I love the formula and lasting power of this lipstick, I would recommend this especially since Essence is a very affordable brand. I would love to try more shades!
